SLS special train

Farewell to the G.N. branch lines in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire

4th May 1968

On 4th May 1968 the Stephenson Locomotive Society ran a special (1Z19) which traversed the line and Peter Green was at Mickleover to record the event.

	Friargate station. Note the Portakabins on the platform which were part of the R&DD BRATO project. Note the 'wiggly wire; in the four foot of the adjacent line. The main platform buildings were on right but by this time had been demolished Only a few bystanders to watch what was the last passenger train on the line

en route to Nottingham
