Railbus commissioning

The prototype class 141 2-car Leyland railbus 141001 was commissioned at the Mickleover test track in 1983. This ended up in Iran but 141113 is preserved at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley.

Later RB004 was also commissioned here. It was built at Derby in 1984. The body was built at the Leyland plant at Workington and BREL Derby C&W were responsible for the underframe and final assembly.

RB004 is preserved in running order at the Waverley Route Heritage Association site at Whitrope.
