An unidentified Stanier Jubilee 4-6-0, piloted by Class 2P No: 40542, eases the Nottingham to London express off the curve and past Melton Jcn signal box in July 1958.

Leaving the test track

Propelling off the test track in the late 1970's past the protecting signal for the junction - now no longer there and replaced by a 'Stop board'. The view is looking back towards Asfordby from Melton Junction.

Note the secondman at the door of the loco.
