Melton Station signal box on a summer's evening in the late 1970's. This is where the 'Train Staff and Annett's key' for the line was normally kept and which had to be signed out by the 'Officer-in-charge'. |

On a winter's day in 1956 Stanier Class 8F No: 48305 heads east through Melton Mowbray Town Station with a coal train having probably travelled down the main line from Toton, via Loughborough and Syston Jcn. This loco was saved from the scrap yard and presently awaits restoration. H N James |

In April 1957 a local train hauled by Fowler 2-6-4 tank loco No: 42339 departs Melton Mowbray Town station en route for Nottingham. The train would most likely stop at Grimston and Old Dalby on its way north. Peter Groom |
