1956 freight

In the summer of 1956 a Stanier 8F with steam to spare hauls a long mixed freight up the 1 in 200 in the vicinity of 121 MP, just north of Edwalton station beyond the end of the present test track.

This cutting is now part of the 'Green Line', a footpath through West Bridgford, which runs along the former railway from Boundary Road, crosses Devonshire Road (bridge No:13) and stops just short of Melton Road bridge (No:12).

1967 survey

Taken in 1967 through the observation windows of the 'Officer's saloon' or a similar vehicle being propelled along the line, this is the view near 120 MP looking on the Down line towards Edwalton and West Bridgford.

This part of the line is now just to the north of the end of the test track and is adjacent to Edwalton Golf course. The footbridge is No: 18 (now removed) with the second Melton Road bridge (No:17) on the A606 visible through it, with Edwalton station beyond.
