2007 activities

On February 7th 2007 Metronet Rail announced that they had committed £7 million to take control of the entire 21 km length of the Old Dalby test track in order to prove the reliability of the next generation of air-conditioned Tube trains

Work was planned to electrify at least 4 km of the line with Underground-compatible DC supply via third and fourth rail.

Serco's ultrasonic test train, known as the UTU4, ran on 8th March 2007 and again on 16th May, top and tailed with two DRS class 37 locomotives. After these runs the line was again closed for the further upgrading.
